1. Can you tell us about your background and what inspired you to become the operations manager at B:HIVE, a unique workspace concept?

I’ve been in the shared space industry for 7 years now, I enjoy being part of such an inspiring community. Joining the B:HIVE at Smales Farm with its innovative design and talented team, was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a community that’s always evolving, knowing that my contribution helps shape its growth and success.

1. What do you find most rewarding about managing B:HIVE, and how does it differentiate itself from other coworking spaces?

The most rewarding part is building relationships with our members, seeing their businesses grow and knowing we create an environment that contributes to their success. While there are a number of great shared spaces around the country, we focus on delivering best-in-class customer service lead by our B:TEAM, paired with a state-of-the-art facility, which is a unique selling point for B:HIVE.

Can you elaborate on the types of business that work at B:HIVE, and how the flexible workspace enhances these opportunities?

We host everyone from solo entrepreneurs to multinational companies across a wide range of industries and probably a few you wouldn’t expect. Our flexibility means businesses can scale up or down as needed. We adapt the space to their requirements and support businesses to define what they really need, providing solutions and the confidence to plan for growth.

What do you enjoy most about working in a space designed for flexibility and simplicity, allowing businesses to thrive without the distractions of workspace management?

1. The variety - each day brings something new, keeping things fresh, engaging and full of new challenges. The B:HIVE is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built shared space, designed to foster movement, integration, productivity and community.  We handle the day-to-day building operations so our members can focus on running their business.

1. If you could invite any three individuals to work at B:HIVE, who would they be and what makes them stand out to you?

1. David Attenborough - Imagine the stories and perspective he’d bring to the community.

   Guy Ritchie - Our Halloween party BOO:HIVE would certainly go to another level 

   Bear Grylls - Because he’d bring adventurous energy, creative problem-solving skills, and maybe even teach us some survival skills along the way.

Are there any exciting projects on the horizon for B:HIVE that you can share with us?

1. Yes! We’re expanding in early 2025 with the opening of B:HIVE+, which features an additional 5,000sqm - located at AIA House above Shore Care. It’s going to be an exciting year managing two spaces under one team, continuing to deliver our premium service and enhance the sense of community across both sites.

How would you describe the sense of community at B:HIVE, and what role do you think it plays in fostering collaboration and innovation among its members?

1. The B:HIVE community is truly unique. Our dedicated B:TEAM focuses on exceptional customer service and fostering relationships. They ensure every member feels welcomed and create opportunities for collaboration, helping our members connect, grow, and thrive together.

3. You can feel this sense of community come to life in our kitchens, where members from different companies and floors come together over coffee or lunch. These moments of connection strengthen the feeling of belonging that makes the B:HIVE so special.

5. Weekly drinks are another great example. They’re a highlight for members and testament to the camaraderie we’ve built together, something that we are really proud of.

Woody’s role at B:HIVE reflects his passion for building meaningful connections and supporting the growth of businesses across all industries. As B:HIVE prepares to expand with the upcoming B:HIVE+ in 2025, Woody and the team are excited to welcome even more members into this vibrant community.
