Papa Hou boasts a range of malleable venues in the heart of Christchurch, directly across the road from the beautiful Botanical Gardens and next to our newly refurbished Hotel, Hotel Give.

Our spaces are flexible and can be utilised for all kinds of performance, including dance, theatre, circus and music – as well as being highly suitable for conferences, functions, and weddings, just to name a few.

Papa Hou is the largest venue, being a 382sqm black box theatre. With moveable seats and no set stage, this venue can be transformed easily to meet your needs. It has;
-Black Junker hardwood sprung floor (not suitable for stilettos)
-Kotobuki movable retractable seating (2 x 90 seat units)
-Light and sound rig onsite
-Anchor points for aerial rigging
-Drape kit with movable tabs
-Skyjack elevated work platform (valid EWP license essential to operate)
-Projector, screen and lectern
-2 x Handheld & 2 x Lapel microphones
-Use of a lobby/ bar area

Raupō is a 91sqm room adjacent to our café. Its central location makes it a great meeting spot for up to 50 people.

Rangimārie is a unique offering. This space has a sprung floor and sound system, most suited for dance, yoga and other movement-based activities.
