The heart of our venue offering is Papa Hou (meaning treasure box in te reo Māori). It’s a special space because it is set up to be a fully functional and flexible black box. A black box theatre is adaptable depending on your specific requirements, providing hirers, and particularly artistic hirers, more scope to be creative.

Our spaces are flexible and can be utilised for all kinds of performance, including dance, theatre, circus and music – as well as being highly suitable for conferences, functions, and weddings, just to name a few.

Papa Hou is our largest venue, being a 382sqm black box theatre. With moveable seats and no set stage, this venue can be transformed easily to meet your needs. It has;
- Black Junker hardwood sprung floor (not suitable for stilettos)
- Kotobuki movable retractable seating (2 x 90 seat units)
- Light and sound rig onsite
- Anchor points for aerial rigging
- Drape kit with movable tabs
- Skyjack elevated work platform (valid EWP license essential to operate)
- Projector, screen and lectern
- 2 x Handheld & 2 x Lapel microphones
- Use of a lobby/ bar area
- Paging system
- Additional equipment can be sourced upon request
- Catering available
- Dedicated foyer, with optional bar add-on
- Can provide onsite catering for up to 50 pax (for larger events external caterers required)
- Green room + two dressing rooms

We also have Raupō, this is a 91sqm room adjacent to our café. Its central location makes it a great meeting spot for up to 50 people.

Another space: Rangimārie is a unique offering. This space has a sprung floor and sound system, most suited for dance, yoga and other movement-based activities.
