Description
Step into the home of Kate Sheppard, New Zealand's iconic suffrage movement leader, and immerse yourself in the inspiring history of the fight for women's right to vote.
Once the heart of New Zealand's suffrage movement led by Kate Sheppard, this house is now a beautifully restored venue suitable for weddings, corporate retreats, workshops and family celebrations. The house and idyllic garden will add a touch of history and significance to your special moment. In addition, Kate Sheppard House is perfect for productive meetings, team-building sessions, and retreats for current and future leaders.
Surrounded by established gardens, the venue has two interconnecting rooms, with a capacity for 70 guests cocktail style or 40 guests seated at tables.
The interactive museum includes stories and activities to engage with, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the story of social change and progress.
Catering can be arranged in-house or with external providers, and the venue includes accessible parking, ramps, and bathrooms.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available, and AV equipment is available for hire. Located just 10 minutes from Christchurch City, Kate Sheppard House is a peaceful retreat in the quiet suburb of Ilam.
