With magnificent 180-degree ocean views, it’s undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots in New Zealand to tie the knot.

There are four ceremony locations to choose from at Papamoa Beach Resort, ranging from intimate native garden settings to lush hilltops overlooking the glistening ocean. Whether you want to feel warm sand between your toes or exchange vows beneath the cooling shade of a Pohutukawa tree, Papamoa Beach Resort has the perfect wedding ceremony spot for you.

Our 16-acre resort offers a range of accommodation for your bridal party and guests, from luxury Garden and Beachfront Villas, Baches, Holiday Units, Cabins and traditional Kiwi campsites.

Location One: Karekare Peak
(120 guests maximum)
If happiness comes in waves then this is the perfect location for a wedding. Karekare means ‘waves/surf’ in Māori. Exchange your vows against the simply spectacular backdrop of ocean, white sands and sunshine. The 180-degree sea views from the Maketu Coast to Mount Maunganui are breathtaking.  Why travel to tropical islands when you can have your dream beach wedding right here in Papamoa?

Location Two: Muritai Ridge
(150 guests maximum)
Muritai means ‘seabreeze’ in Māori, which is fitting for this beautiful spot.  Situated on top of the sand dunes looking along the front of our Beachfront Villas and across the sparkling ocean towards Mount Maunganui, it’s perfect for your big day.  A stairway leads down to the beach where you can relax and explore locations for photos while your guests enjoy champagne and the magnificent views.

Location Three: Pohutukawa Bliss
(80 guests maximum)
Exchange your vows under the cool shade of a pohutukawa tree in this stunning location overlooking the glistening water towards Motiti Island.  Perched atop the sand dunes, this intimate location has the perfect backdrop of sand, ocean and sunshine. I do!

Location Four: Makoha Garden
(80 guests maximum)
Makoha means ‘tranquil’ in Māori, a perfect description of this intimate location.  Surrounded by lush, native greenery and our beautiful Garden Villas, this gorgeous shaded setting has an entryway to the private garden area, ideal for the bride’s arrival.
