Google Launches Their Own Co-Working Space in London
Jump Studios have finished designing Google’s unique co-working space for London-based start-ups at the “Silicon Roundabout” in Shoreditch. The Google ‘Campus‘ offers seven floors of flexible work spaces and include awesome features like free high speed internet and support for new tech companies like mentoring programs, speaker series, and networking events.
Large, open-plan spaces offer spacious communal workplaces and reclaimed shipping containers house informal meeting rooms, small kitchens and lockers. There is also a cafe, a 40-bike storage area, a presentation room for up to 140 people and a large inspiration wall made from reclaimed vegetable crates.
The top-floor flat roof has been timber decked and will be used for cinema screenings and social gatherings. Stripping back the surfaces, revealing the existing structure, and using inexpensive materials like linoleum and plywood, has given the building features a raw, workshop-like aesthetic. Google definitely spared no expense when it came to building this impressive looking co-working space.
It's great seeing one of the world's most forward-thinking and successful companies adopting a strong trend that we think will become an intergral part of how we work in the future.
